The chat was actually quite spontaneous, having known that Simon just stared to work in Iceland, I decided to ask for his story on the glacier
1. Why did you come to Iceland
I was in a French army for years then I worked in a shop. A friend in the shop came here to work as a guide and so I decided to give a try
2. Have you ever thought of coming to Iceland
Yes I thought of coming to Iceland but I don’t know when’s the moment until the recent opportunity
3. Can I say your curiosity and interest in nature facilitate you as the guide?
Can say so, I was always addicted to hills and mountains when I was in the army and now I’m close to the mountains. I like doing extreme sports and going for hiking
4. Do you like Iceland?
Yes.
If you ask me to choose between Iceland and other countries with high mountain, I will still choose Iceland. I like that she is so remoted and that she is different from other places.
5. Have you adapted to the life style of Iceland?
I’m not sure, I have only been in the town for 2 days. I live near the visitor center and I usually go for hiking or mountain climbing during my day off
Simon is a energetic, young and knowledgeable guide. He had given me a memorable once in a life time glacier walk and ice cave experience ![]()
This is also my first story from abroad
Enjoy!
