前言：Rosemarie 係照顧左我同屋企十年嘅菲傭姐姐，當年科技唔算好發達，佢決定回國前我俾左張紀念冊佢寫，最後嘗試用電話聯絡但唔成功，超過十年無聯絡，但我一直都有記掛住佢，後來用左好一陣子時間先係網上搵到對方嘅 Facebook 聯絡返，今次搵左 Rosemarie 姐姐分享佢嘅故事。
1. How long did you worked in Hong Kong? Why did you choose to work in Hong Kong?
I worked as a domestic helper in Hong Kong for 10 years with only one employer and that is your family. I arrived Hong Kong on March 8, 1992 and stayed until March 2002. I have a vacation back home every 2 years.
My cousin Cely is the one who encouraged me to work in Hong Kong because life is hard in the Philippines, and I dont have work here and when she asked me if i wanted to replace her as the domestic helper, I did not hesitate to say ‘yes’, so she helped me to proceed my papers and lend me money as well.
2. What was the happiest moment of working in Hong Kong?
My happiest moment working in Hong Kong is when you see that all my dreams coming true. I have a very nice employer that until now they still care about me. Happy moments are when I play with you and baby twins.
3. What was the most challenging thing of working in Hong Kong?
Of course one challenging thing is how to fight with your homesickness. Sometimes I would thought if my employer was satisfied with my work and if i were able to finish one contract. These are some challenges I have encountered.
4. Back then the technology wasn’t that advanced, what did you do when you missed your family?
Every time when I missed them i would make a call (when I had my cell phone), and I wrote letters to them, or I looked at my family album.
5. Is there anything you would like to share to Hong Kongers who have a maid at home?
Well, to Hong Kongers who have a maid at home please love them, be nice to them and treat them like your family so that in return they will also love your family, and be nice especially to your children.
後記：我記得搵得返 Rosemarie 姐姐個下係超級興奮的，當我地第一次 FaceTime 嘅時候佢更加激動流淚。回想以前曾經超級曳嘅我，Rosemarie 姐姐應該都成日俾我激親，但佢仍然好錫我。Rosemarie 姐姐返菲律賓後曾經開過一間雜貨店，而家仲識得租啲單位俾留學生添。見到 Rosemarie 姐姐而家一家過得咁好我非常欣慰，希望佢哋一家身體健康，生活愉快。
